What is a Upper lip Lift?

An upper lip lift is a surgical procedure used in facial rejuvenation to reduce the distance between the nose and the upper lip and give a more youthful appearance to the upper lip volume/shape. As people age, one of the changes that occurs is an elongation of the skin between the base of the nose and the upper lip. This increase in skin can cause the lips to appear thinner and flatter, and it contributes to an aged look, particularly in the perioral regions, as it disrupts the balance and proportions of the face.

Dr. Glener prefers a subnasal lip lift to address this issue by removing a small amount of skin from directly under the nose, in a pattern such that the upper lip contour is made more youthful. The incision is made at the base of the nose, which allows for a discreet scar placement.

Benefits of an Upper Lip Lift

By shortening the skin in this area, the upper lip is lifted, which not only improves lip fullness but also enhances the appearance of the entire lower face. The procedure restores youthful proportions, reduces the aged appearance of the surrounding facial regions, and improves overall harmony. This technique is particularly effective for those who desire a subtle but impactful facial rejuvenation.
